The Chamber’s Human Resources Council is bringing in Lt. Terry Choate and Detective Joe Hileman to provide you with personal safety skills that will assist you and your loved ones in any violent and traumatic incident.  They will cover:

• Understanding Violence
• How We React to a Sudden, Unplanned Incident of Violence
• How We Make Decisions
• How to Prepare to Make “Good Decisions in Fractions of a Second” No Matter What the Situation Is
• How to Win the Mental Game
• How Criminals Make Their Decisions and How They Choose Victims
• Practical Personal Defense Tips

According to Lt. Terry, the key to survival in a sudden and traumatic incident is the ability to make the right decision in fractions of a second. You need a proper mindset based in preparation, managing fear, controlling your heart rate, and understanding exactly not only what happens to you in such a situation, but as importantly, what happens to your adversary. Terry and Joe will bring you this critical level of understanding and fill your toolbox with options and skills that will raise your level of performance through tactics and fear management.
The end result of this course will provide you with a base "mindset" and thought process that will keep you safe while you are away from work as much as it does while you are at work. This course will teach you the skills and techniques necessary to be far less likely a victim, as well as how to win if there is an attempt to make you a victim.

Membership in the Council is open to any business in need of assistance with its human resources function, meaning every business, as well as to independent practitioners who work with or for businesses to assistance them with their HR function.  The representatives who attend and participate in meetings and events should have an interest in, involvement with or responsibility for human resources.
