About our After Hours Hosts:
Mansfield Bank - Celebrating 40 Years in Norton!
In 1976, Norton Savings and Loan, a small, state-charted institution, merged into Mansfield Cooperative Bank. Two directors came over with them, Bill Scott and Bob Eddleston, both of whom served many years on the Board before retiring.
Though the Mansfield institution was founded more than 90 years prior in the city of its namesake, the bank’s Norton branch would go on serving customers for forty years on West Main Street. A small white building near the Route 140 intersection was home to the Norton branch through the end of the last century. Then in 2000, a larger, more capably equipped facility was built next to the Norton Middle School. Two back-office departments have since been housed at the 225 West Main Street location, as Mansfield Bank’s largest branch continues its growth.
Mansfield Bank: a proud staple of the Norton community.
