The "One Big Beautiful Bill" (OBBBA) Review
Session Review: The legislation known as the One Big Beautiful Bill, signed into law on July 4th, 2025, introduces several significant updates to the federal tax system and extends many of the expiring provisions from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). As tax professionals are aware, tax laws are constantly evolving. This review will cover many of the individual and business provisions of the new tax bill. The following topics will be covered during this session:
· Analyze Individual and Business Provisions.
· Overview of Bill by Sections.
· Extensively review No Tax on Tips and No Tax on Overtime provisions.
· Cover the bunching of itemized deductions.
· Assess SALT and related PTET issues.
· Assess the Green Energy Credits and new Expiration dates.
· Navigating standard deductions, Child Tax Credit.
· Briefly review changes in Net CFC tested income, BEAT, and renewed OZs
· Identify what has been Extended, Made Permanent, or Eliminated.
