She was the private nurse of Joseph and Rose Kennedy\, whose daughter Rosemary had developmental disabilities. Their wish was to have a typical life for Rosemary which in-turn inspired Luella to open one of the first community based educational and therapeutic programs for young children. This would not have been possible without a generous three-year grant from the Joseph P. Kennedy Foundation.\n\n \n\nThe Spring Celebration Gala will feature silent and live auctions\, dinner\, dancing\, and a special video presentation along with other exciting twists. It is sure to be another inspiring evening where guests will help KDC provide additional resources\, flexibility with services\, and allow us to respond in a timely way to the needs of the children\, adults\, and families needing our services beyond what is covered in state contracts.
