DESCRIPTION:Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce Will Host Candidate Forum\n\nLegislative Candidates Invited to Address Business Community on October 20\n\n \n\nThe Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce has announced it will host a Candidate Forum on Thursday\, October 20 at 6:00 pm at Wheaton College's in Mary Lyon Hall\, in the Holman Room.\n\n \n\n"The purpose of this event is for our members and the public to hear from the candidates on matters relating to the business community\, " stated Executive Director Kara Griffin. "As the voice of business\, the Tri-Town Chamber wants to learn more about those looking to represent us in state government."\n\n \n\nGriffin further clarified this is not a debate.  "We want to give the candidates and incumbents a chance to speak to the business community directly on the issues specific to us.  In fact\, all the questions will come from our members."\n\n\n\nTo Submit Questions in Advance Please email edirector@tri-townchamber.org\n\n\n\n To date\, four of the six candidates have confirmed their participation.  A three- person panel will pose questions to candidates as submitted by Chamber members.  The forum will be led by Griffin.\n\n \n\nInvited candidates are: Rep. Jay Barrows\, R-Mansfield and Democratic opponent\, Michael Toole of Norton\;  Rep. Steven Howitt\, R-Seekonk and Democratic challenger Paul Jacques of Rehoboth\; and Rep. Betty Poirier\, R-North Attleboro and Democratic opponent Scott Dubuc of North Attleboro. \n\n \n\n"It is our hope that all six candidates will join us\," said Chamber President Tim Kenneally.  "Successful economic development in our area hinges on collaborative relationships with our local and state leaders.
