DESCRIPTION:MMAS Black Box Theater & Morini Gallery invite you to their new second location for BAH from 5pm-7pm on Tuesday April 25th. Location: 888 South Main Street\, Mansfield (directly across from Xfinity Center). Tour the facility and see our plans for the future!\n\n\n\nMMAS Black Box Theater & Morini Gallery has been inspiring and delighting the community through great theater and educational programming for over 23 years. MMAS draws it's members and patrons from all over southeastern Mass and beyond. Most enjoy Mansfield dinning and shopping while attending MMAS. \n\n\n\nWe look forward to meeting Tri-Town members at the Business After Hours. Come hear about our great theater productions\, educational programming\, art gallery\, concerts\, events and future plans! We look forward to meeting you!\n\n\n\nThe Chamber's Business After Hour networking events are a great way to meet fellow Chamber members\, to distribute your business cards and/or brochures\, and to make meaningful connections in a comfortable atmosphere. If you have never been to an after hours let us know and we will make sure an Ambassador welcomes you!\n\n\n\nAbout our After Hours Host: MMAS\n\n Twenty two years ago\, eight friends formed a non-profit (501 (c)3) organization to support the arts and artists.\n\nToday\, their brainstorm has grown into a thriving arts organization the Mansfield Music & Arts Society Black Box Theater & Morini Gallery (MMAS) recognized throughout Southeastern Massachusetts.\n\n \n\nMMAS has an annual operating budget of just under $300\,000 and attracts about 10\,000 audience members\, patrons and performers from as far north as New Hampshire and south to Rhode Island and Cape Cod. More than 2\,000 of our patrons live in Bristol County\, many of whom eat dinner in local restaurants before attending a show.\n\n \n\nAudiences come to MMAS because they know they will see exceptional productions in the intimate 76-seat Black Box Theater for a fraction of the cost of a ticket in Boston or Providence.\n\n \n\nMMAS is also home to the Morini Art Gallery which offers exhibitions of works by local and regional artists.\n\n \n\nMMAS sponsors the Arts in the Spotlight show that runs on the Mansfield\, Norton\, Taunton and Foxboro cable channels. It hosts an annual arts festival\, regular comedy nights\, and offers educational programs to children\, teens and adults.\n\n \n\nMMAS is an active\, contributing member of the regional community. Annually\, MMAS gives scholarships to college students studying the arts\, and has given out more than $29\,000 since the fund was established. MMAS has a robust college intern program offering in-depth\, real life experience to students.\n\n \n\nEach year MMAS donates between $3\,000 and $5\,000 worth of tickets to community and non-profit organizations in Mansfield\, Sharon\, Foxboro\, Plainville\, Norton\, Easton and Attleboro for their own fundraising efforts. MMAS also provides free tickets to local Councils on Aging to share with their clients. As a result of MMAS' significant contributions\, the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce recognized MMAS with its "Good Neighbor" award in 2015.\n\n \n\nSince its inception\, MMAS has moved three times. It has been in its current leased location at 30 Crocker St. for ten years. In 2009\, MMAS raised funds to expand into the storefront of our current building located at 377 N. Main Street. This expansion more than doubled our space and added 30% more theater seats\, more rehearsal space and created an art gallery and lobby.\n\n \n\nMMAS is a volunteer organization\; there are only four paid staff member three are part time. Our actors\, set builders\, backstage and technical people are all volunteers\; as is everyone who works the ticket office and concession area for every performance. Volunteers are used in the office\, at the arts festival and plan our annual gala. Each year\, volunteers give almost 30\,000 hours to MMAS.
